The rule that stood out the most to me in this video was the boomerang rule. It said if you do something nice for someone else, it boomerangs back and someone will do something nice for you. I really like that rule because I love helping others out and doing kind deeds, it makes me feel good and others feel good. I also like the rule about not worrying. It said that only 8% of the stuff you worry about comes true. I think that is a very interesting fact.
This spring break I am not going to be doing very much. I really wish I was going to Florida or on vacation somewhere but I will be stuck at home in Michigan. This weekend I will be going to my cousins' for my cousin's birthday which I am excited about! Saturday my friend is having a bonfire that I will be going to. Hopefully it is not too cold out and we have nice weather. I might be going shopping during the week and my cousins are supposed to come over a couple of days. As of right now, these are my only plans for spring break. A kind deed I recently did for someone was when I was walking down the hallway I saw a boy with his hands full trying to open a door. He opened the door and all of his books fell out of his hands. My friend and I went to his side and helped him pick up all of his stuff and then opened the door for him. The title of this article is The Farmer’s Donkey. The topic is about being pushed down, and treated badly but still getting back up and keeping a positive attitude. In the story, a farmer’s donkey fell into a well and the farmer thought there was no way he could help the donkey out. To prevent this from happening to any other animals in the future, the farmer began to fill the well with dirt. Instead of the donkey letting the farmer bury him alive, the donkey would shake off every pile of dirt thrown on to him and take a step up, the donkey kept doing that until he reached the top and was free. I agree with this article, when having a bad time...having a bad attitude does not do anything but make the situation worse. All you can do is keep a positive attitude and hope for the best. This volleyball season was not the best season. We did not win many games and although losing was tough, we could not just give up. We had to keep a positive attitude and keep our heads up. Never giving up helped us to at least give the other team some competition and help us win a few games. In the future, if I am having a bad day or feel like giving up I will remember this article to help me keep a positive attitude. I will remember how the donkey picked himself up instead of just laying there, left to die. I will do the same, no matter how hard it is. I will push through it with a smile and keep my head up. This story applies to our chapter because this chapter is all about attitude, if you have a better attitude it is more likely for better things to work out for you. Astonished: adj : filled with the emotional impact of overwhelming surprise or shock. Retrieved: v: get or find back; recover the use of. Something that stood out to me in the quote by Charles Swindoll was the statement, "Life is 10% what happens and 90% how you react." I think that was an interesting idea. There are many things you cannot control in life, but you can control your attitude. If you are in a bad situation but have a positive attitude it could make all the difference. My parents are supportive and caring. They have always been here for me and have been my number one support system. They always make sure my sisters and I are happy and taken care of. They give us everything they can. Whenever I need money for something or a ride they are there for me to help me out. |
